AUTHOR BIO
Shoghi Effendi (1897_–1957), great-grandson of Bahá'u'lláh (the Founder of the Bahá'à Faith), was educated at the American University of Beirut and Balliol College, Oxford. Among the many achievements of his ministry as the Guardian of the Bahá'à Faith are the development of the world spiritual and administrative center of the Faith in Haifa, Israel; the establishment of the administrative order of the Faith; the elaboration of many aspects of the Faith's history and teachings through his writings; the translation of many passages from the writings of Bahá'u'lláh into English; and the planning for the growth of the Faith on a world-encompassing scale.
